Stay-cation

So we had big plans to go to Yosemite and see Fall leaves this weekend, BUT we ended up staying home and just doing fun things close to home and had just as much fun without all the driving. It was the right thing to do.

Jake's FIRST Haircut!!

We decided against going to a fancy kid-cut place. Instead we did Jacob's first haircut at home.

...except near the end, when we were trying to get a few of the stragglers we'd missed.

His mama said it is impossible to get mad at this kid now, because he is so cute with his new 'big-boy' haircut.

Pumpkins!

We had fun picking out some pumpkins for Halloween.

Jake had fun too, but he was convienced they were all basketballs, ("bastibo!").

This kid loves to go outside and PLAY with the basketball,

almost as much as he loves to SAY basketball!

Jake is starting to talk more:

"Bastibo"= basketball,
"Baybo" = baseball,
"Hi-bye" = everyother word he says!

These are just a few of his favorite words. It is so cute to see how he is communicating more.

Jake enjoyed his cake... almost as much as his cousins enjoyed feeding it to him.  Thanks everyone for celebrating Jake's first birthday with us.
